The Pacific Symphony Orchestra was organized by the Primorsky Regional Radio Committee in 1935. Thanks to this, regular studio music broadcasts and programs broadcasting live symphonic sounds appeared in Vladivostok. For more than half a century, the orchestra worked on Primorsky Radio, and in 1993 it gained independence and received a new name - Pacific. Over the next ten years, the Classical Opera Studio Theater worked with the orchestra. Since 2004, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra has been part of the Primorsky Regional Philharmonic.
During its creative activity, the orchestra has accumulated a huge repertoire: works by composers of the Baroque era, classics, romantics, including all the symphonies and instrumental concertos of Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, music of the 20th and 21st centuries, works by Far Eastern authors. The Pacific Symphony Orchestra of the Primorsky Regional Philharmonic Society actively tours in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region: Japan, the Republic of Korea and, especially often, in the People's Republic of China. The team fruitfully collaborates with many famous conductors, singers and instrumentalists from Moscow, St. Petersburg and abroad.
In 2025, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra of the Primorsky Regional Philharmonic Society will celebrate its 90th anniversary.
