The Pacific Symphony Orchestra was organized at the Primorsky Regional Radio Committee in 1935. Due to this, regular studio music programs appeared in Vladivostok, programs in which live symphonic sound was broadcast. For more than half a century, the orchestra worked at Primorsky Radio, and in 1993 it gained independence and received a new name – Pacific. For the next ten years, the Classical Opera Studio theater operated at the orchestra. Since 2004, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra has joined the artistic staff of the Primorsky Regional Philharmonic.
During its creative activity, the orchestra has accumulated a huge repertoire: works by Baroque, classical, and Romantic composers, including all symphonies and instrumental concertos by Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff, music from the 20th and 21st centuries, and works by Far Eastern authors.
The Pacific Symphony Orchestra of the Primorsky Krai Philharmonic conducts active tours in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region: Japan, the Republic of Korea and, especially often, in the People's Republic of China. The band fruitfully cooperates with many famous conductors, singers and instrumentalists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, and abroad.
In 2025, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra of the Primorsky Regional Philharmonic will celebrate its 90th anniversary.
